How to Get Motivated to Work Out

How to motivate yourself to work out or get motivated to do something you know you need to do but seem to be putting off is what I hear from people so often. Most people say they make the plan, they have every intention of doing it, but when it comes to starting, they just don’t. The answer to how to get motivated to work out or do anything for that matter is….. Just Do It! Just Move! Just Start!

There are three things I recommend doing that will help you get motivated, stay motivated, and continue with your workouts or other areas in your life that you just can’t seem to get a handle on.

#1 – Plan It Put a plan to it, make a mental note of when you are going to start and just start. Better yet, put it on your calendar, write it down on paper. I promise once you get started it will be worth it. This can be said about other areas of your life as well. For example, are you really motivated to go to work everyday or were you really eager to study for the test back in college? We do these things because they need to get done, they are the means to us reaching the end goal of a healthier body, a paycheck, or a college degree. If you know your workout is planned for when your baby is napping, do it and get it done, then plan for the next day and make it happen. Even if you only get five minutes of your workout in before your baby wakes up, you will have started and it will be easier to continue once you have started.

#2 – Identify the reasons why you are doing this You need to figure out what the underlying reasons, your priorities, as to why you need to work out. Exercise is not simply for us, sometimes I need something a little more external. Often times, especially for women, we put off our own needs and put the needs of others ahead of our own, The problem with this is if we are putting off our own needs, the people around us often suffer, we are less patient, not as happy, not the best example to those around us. As I get older there are different reasons why I workout, it’s not all external for me, it is more about what will benefit my family. Yes the health aspects are a great thing, but for me, I stay motivated to work out consistently because I want to be the best mom and wife and be around for a long time. If you find it hard to find time for yourself to workout, make it about the important people in you life and do it for them.

#3 – Accountability You may need someone or something to hold you accountable, a workout partner or accountability group, that makes you show up and gives you a reason to keep up. This is exactly why I began teaching Turbo Kick classes and beginning my career in the fitness industry. As a person who struggled with weight issues for the majority of my life, I obsessed over my weight and often went to unhealthy extremes, including exercise anorexia, to lose weight. I needed to show up and teach these classes and be held accountable and most importantly, stay healthy. Turbo Kick is still one of my favorite formats to teach and my classes are still a way I hold myself accountable. You may need to find a friend that will be your workout partner, or an online group where you can support each other, anything that will get you motivated to get your workout in.

Warm And Cold Market

Warm Market?  Cold market ? What does it all mean?  If you’re new to network marketing or you’re trying to figure out how to get started in network marketing, you’re going to hear these words a lot.

Think about a bulls-eye for moment.  Imagine your warm market being your family in the center of the bulls-eye, then it expands to people you know, then the outside of the bulls-eye is people you don’t know (social media etc.).

I want you to avoid one of the most common mistakes network marketers make, and that is not sharing with the people closest to you. This happens in all areas of the business world, but we as entrepreneurs often don’t share what we have to offer with those closest to us.

You want to start with the people closest to you and work your way outwards. A fire burns hottest from the center.

Should You Join A Gym-the Pros and Cons

Thinking about joining a gym? There are pros and cons to joining a gym, and it is up to you to decide why you should join a gym or why you should not join a gym. As many of you know, I have been in the health and fitness industry for many years and am a rep for Beachbody, which is a leader in at home workouts. You might assume I would tell you to workout at home. Personally, I love the gym atmosphere and still teach group fitness classes.

Advantages of Joining a Gym:
*Childcare Available-you get workout done without interruptions at home
*Be part of a Community
*Wide Variety of Exercise Equipment
*Group Fitness Classes

Disadvantages of Joining a Gym:
*Time-More time needed to drive to gym/check in/drive home
*Costly
*Long Term Contract

5 Questions to ask yourself before joining a gym:
1.What does your schedule look like?
2.Do you need a community? Do you feed off energy of other people?
3.What is your goal?
4.What do you like to do? What types of workouts?

There are many reasons why you should or should not join a gym. If losing weight is your goal, remember that 80% of your results are based on your nutrition, so I would tell you to focus on that first. I do run online accountability groups and would love to help answer any questions you have regarding nutrition, along with what type of workout would be best for you.

Getting Toddlers to Eat Veggies

I have finally found a way to get my kids their vegetables!!

I’ve struggled with my son, who is a picky eater, for many years on ways to get him his vegetables. When he began eating real food as a toddler, I could not get him to eat his vegetables so I tried everything including juicing, but I just couldn’t get him to eat his vegetables.

Many of you know I love Shakeology, and sometimes I could get my son to drink a shake, but he doesn’t always like the thickness of it . We also had an amazing pediatrician approved drink called Daily Sunshine that he will drink sometimes, but he doesn’t always seem to like milk.

The idea came to me as I was making my Shakeology one morning.  Knowing I wasn’t going to get all my vegetables in for the day, I added a Power Greens Boost, which is a great way to get all of those green veggies full of all the nutrients your body needs. I decided I was going to try it with my picky eater son.

I decided to sprinkle some of the Power Greens Boost into a sugar free drink after his nap to see if he would notice anything different.  He didn’t even notice and I know he is getting his veggies.

This is super affordable and a great way to make sure your kids are getting their vegetables.  Shoot me a message at holly.hierman@gmail.com
