I have recently come out on the other side of about a 3-4 month battle with insomnia and I have done a lot of research, listened to podcasts, and actually saw a specialist and I want to share with you what I found worked for me to help me get over my bout with insomnia. Continue reading
Here I am riding my stationary bike and thinking about all the things I can do while I have 30-45 minutes where my body is busy, but my mind is free. I could listen to personal development, audios, catch up on emails and text messages or listen to music. How to effectively multitask is something so many of us try to master, but often does not seem to work to our advantage.
One thing I learned when I first started building my own personal business is to make the most of the time where you can feed your mind with knowledge while your body is busy doing other things. Anytime you are doing something where you can be listening to personal development while still accomplishing something is key.
While you are working out, cleaning the house, doing laundry, you can also be filling your mind with knowledge. Turn your car into a learning university and listen to audiobooks, podcasts, anything that will fill your brain with messages that empower you. This is how you can effectively multitask and get more done and of course, you can achieve so much more when you are feeding your mind with great information.
I want to live a full life, full of meaning with more fun and less stress. A life of mediocrity is not something that appeals to me and should not sound good to anyone. I tell people all the time that multitasking is a myth, I used to think that to become more successful I needed to learn to multitask better. What I have found is that you can only truly focus on one thing at a time.
There is only one way to actually multitask, it is to combine a mindless activity with a mindful activity. Whenever your body is occupied, you can be filling your mind with personal development and bettering yourself from the inside out. What can not be done is reading emails or answering texts while listening to audio, you can’t focus on two things that use your brain at the same time.
To give yourself a competitive edge, you need to fill your mind with knowledge that will help you achieve your goals. Think about all the times where you can combine a mindless activity with a mindful activity and even if it is just ten minutes a day, just start filling your mind with knowledge.

Have you ever wanted to get started as a group fitness instructor? Have you ever imagined yourself at the front of the class actually teaching those fitness classes that you love so much? My name is Holly Hierman and I have been teaching group fitness since 2001. It is a great way to make a little extra money while getting your workout at the same time. Another benefit is not having to pay for gym membership.
Today I want to talk to you about my absolute musts in keeping up with your workouts. It’s so difficult to know what is going on with your body when you start a workout program, especially when you expect to be feeling more energetic and stronger and your body is feeling something different. I was on the fence for so many years about taking supplements, all the while thinking I can just eat healthy and get everything my body needs through food. Now that I have been in the fitness/wellness business for over eight years, along with teaching fitness classes since the year 2000, I have found it is very difficult, if not impossible, to get everything our bodies need from food alone. In researching vitamins/supplements, I found that our soil is not given time to rest between plantings so it’s stripped of so many nutrients. It is for that reason that even the healthiest of us may still be lacking in certain vitamins/minerals. I know I talk all the time about Shakeology and you know how much this has changed my life, it is with Shakeology and other supplements that I use that help with my workouts and daily health. I want to share with you how I keep up with my workouts, while taking care of my body as well.
I want to talk to you about a subject that is not always an easy one, but something I, myself, am dealing with right now. Postpartum depression, or “baby blues”, is something so many of us are dealing with but not many people like to talk about. I recently had my second child and having been through it before with my first child, I seem to have a better handle on what is going on this time. I’m not sure about how it affects everyone, but I seem to be very emotional, which is quite unusual for me. I have found five ways that help get me through this trying time and want to share with you in the hope that they may help you as well.
