Why am I Posting a Gigantic Picture of my Face?

Why am I posting a gigantic picture of my face? 
1) because I can
2) I like my eyes 👀 today
3) I NEVER wear lipstick 💄 because it’s such a PITA!

Getting on the teeth… a lot of them have a yucky smell & taste… smearing, reapplying, etc… PITA!

So I usually just about avoid it altogether.

I know what you’re gonna say. lipsense…. yeah yeah… I need to get some but I had to get some quick, so I went on amazon and just ordered a couple colors I’ve had in the past

I LOVE ❤️ “24 Stay” – I don’t know the brand but if you look it up you’ll find it. I’ve eaten 3 times and haven’t reapplied. Oh and it’s been on since 7am (it’s now 1:30pm).

Still looks pretty good if I do say so myself.

So, for all the chicks out there that want to be low maintenance, like me, and don’t like a lot of hassle YOURE WELCOME!

I love 💕 little life tips like these, don’t you? (Notice I didn’t say “life hack”… doesn’t that sound a little criminal? I always think 🤔 of computer hacking or something…)

Oreos Anyone?

Oreos anyone? There. I said it. I’m eating Oreos. I’m not stressed. I’m not tired. I just want some Oreos! I know it may seem counter intuitive to post something like this (since my “career” is helping people with diet, exercise and motivation) BLAH BLAH BLAH… 🤪    

On the real though, I am not a “food Nazi” by any means! What’s a “food Nazi” – it’s that person that shames you for ordering a burger instead of a salad. They’re the people that seem like they have willpower of steel and just plain make me want to punch something sometimes. 😝

I AM a fitness professional. I AM a motivator. I am NOT perfect. I believe in moderation (as I type this I’m crunching away on ANOTHER Oreo). Yes my friends. I’m gonna eat FOUR! Hahaha. And you know what? I’m gonna love ❤️ every friggin second because I CHOSE this moment. Now, I might get some flack from other people in the fitness world for posting something so horrific (hahaha). But, isn’t honesty better than perfection?

On social media it’s SO easy to feel less than, not good enough and judged, simply by reading what other people post. But let’s face it. They only post the good stuff right? (Well, except for those that are always posting to “blow off steam”…. don’t get me started on that whole “can I just vent please”… ok… another day for my strong feelings about that!) 😆 

Today is about EMPOWERING you to acknowledge when you decide to go “off diet” or CHOOSE (with complete awareness) that you just will NOT give up coffee creamer, no matter how many times people say you should! This should be a crime in my personal opinion. I love coffee ☕️ creamer and even when I’m hosting a Slim Down challenge or weight loss group, you’d better believe I’m drinking coffee ☕️ creamer every day because it’s AMAZING and it makes me happy 😊! Did I mention I love ❤️ COFFEE ☕️hahaha. I’m addicted more than the average mom, but I’m cool with that.

Everyone’s got something and I believe in personal pleasures as long as they’re not harmful to yourself or others. So, have four Oreos, or more… but make sure it’s a conscious DECISION. Not a punishment, not a compulsion, not filling a void. The motive behind it all is what is important.

What to Expect When You Start A Workout Routine

Maybe you’ve never worked out a day in your life and you know you need to start doing something about the way that you feel, maybe it isn’t even about your body anymore, right?

Maybe you’ve never worked out a day in your life and you know you need to start doing something about the way that you feel, maybe it isn’t even about your body anymore, right?

It’s a like an energy necessity and or maybe the doctor said hey look you got to start exercising. If any of this sounds like you, here are some things that you can expect when you are getting started with a workout program.

If this is your first time watching one of my videos, my name is Holly Hierman and I’ve been in the fitness industry since the year 2000. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology and I’ve been working one-on-one with individuals for over 10 years online, as well as teaching group fitness classes since 2001 and I love helping people discover that exercise isn’t a punishment, it’s actually a reward.

I have to tell you how important it is for you to get at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. It is all it really takes to boost your metabolism along with giving you a better emotional outlook in general. Research shows that exercise is not only good for you physically but mentally as well. I want to help you with what you can expect when you are starting out, so that you continue to exercise and not stop once you feel something you might not expect.

Pace Yourself! You are going to get tired.Do not try to go at Olympic pace or try to keep up with the person next to you. Nobody expects you to go full out and go crazy on your first day or even your first week.

Some things you might experience are light-headedness you might even see little balls of light flashing in front of your eyes or even your sight going black. Don’t worry, if you do experience dizziness or any one of these things your body is telling you to pace yourself, to slow down. This is very natural and very normal, especially when you take your body from a standing position to a seated position or maybe laying down and then quickly back up. It’s better to go light and make it through the whole workout. You will feel accomplished and good about yourself and more than likely you will want to do it again the next day.

You will most likely experience muscle fatigue/tiredness and most likely muscle soreness. Your muscles are going to feel like they might “give out” at times, this is normal. I’ve heard it explained, while lifting weights, as the feeling of little bubbles or like a rippling sensation and while that’s actually normal I would recommend you do less weight next time or take more breaks. Because yes you’re going to feel fatigued, you’re gonna feel the burn, the muscle burn, that is. While all of this is normal, when you’re first starting out you don’t want to kill yourself on the first day because like if you can’t even get out of bed to walk the next day what’s the chances that you’re gonna stick to something?!

Find a workout you enjoy, something that you look forward to doing. You are more likely to stick with something that you think is fun, even if it is difficult. Finding exercises and workout routines that are right for your body, not only your body but also fills you up in a way that makes you feel good on the inside. What’s really fun for you to do, for example, if you’re the type of person who likes to dance, then find dance classes or online workouts that have dancing in it. For me, I like to feel tough, I love me some kickboxing and MMA style stuff.

Figure out what you enjoy, do you like riding bikes? Do you like swimming? Do you like being outdoors? Do you like being in a group setting? Ask yourself these questions, because if you’re not enjoying yourself, you’re not going to stick with it. You might stick with it to get to your fitness goal, but you’re not gonna stick with it after that. This has really been a godsend for me, I found some really fun group fitness classes that I love so much and I still take and teach fitness classes. I absolutely love it! I don’t do any type of workout if it feels like a punishment or if it’s painful. Just because it’s fun doesn’t mean that it’s not good for you, it’s actually even better because you’re going to stick with it.

My tips for anybody out there who is approaching exercise for the first time or maybe for the 30th time in your life and it’s never worked for you before are to learn to pace yourself, listen to your body, drink plenty of water and slow down when you need to take breaks. There is Greatness in You

Do you believe that? I mean REALLY BELIEVE that there is greatness in you?

I remember from a very young age always having a DESIRE to BE SOMEBODY – to accomplish something – to MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Little did I know that the root of any of those things is truly believing in yourself.

In fact, my story is similar to a lot of young girls – I got teased A LOT… I didn’t ever feel like I really fit in… I ALWAYS felt overweight and not pretty enough. I got bullied… I was ashamed of my body. I didn’t like who I was or what I looked like because I thought that defined me.

It wasn’t until I was in college and trying to recover from a life long struggle with self-hate (as well as anorexia) that I decided to start loving myself for who God created me to be.

I started noticing that the way I spoke to myself changed EVERYTHING – my mood, how I treated others and how I was treated too…

I realized the power of personal development, positivity, motivation and surrounding myself with others that were uplifting and on a mission to become better too.

I really felt like I found “the secret” to life and success… It all starts with what you BELIEVE. If you believe great things will happen, they will. If you believe that life just happens to you, you’re always going to be a victim.

You see, I decided to take back control. I decided that I could make my life matter or I could have a life-long pity-party.

Everything in life starts with your beliefs and while you may have some screwed up beliefs (by the way, we all have beliefs that are simply not true and detrimental), you have the power to CHANGE those BELIEFS and craft them toward the person you want to become.

I love what I do because I’m challenged every single day to become a better person. That’s awesome. It’s not always easy, but the journey is worth every second of feeling uncomfortable.

How To Be More Productive

I have such an incredible productivity tip for you today. If you want to increase your productivity – you should journal or create your “to do” list the night before. So…when you wake up you hit the ground running, the other thing is your brain works on things while you are sleeping.

I heard this from Shark Tank star Daymond John, who also wrote the book The Power of Broke, he writes down the things that he is working towards or obsessed with, so that his brain can start working on them.

I usually like to watch tv and do mind numbing activities before going to bed and as some of you may know I have been struggling with insomnia lately. I thought to myself maybe this journaling might help, Chalene Johnson also speaks to this and does her “to do” list the night before.

I decided to journal what I was grateful for and then jot down my goals and finally listed the goals I was working on at the time. Starting with what I was grateful for put me in a positive state of mind before tackling my massive to do list. I was able to pull out my top five things that I would focus on the following day for the short time I have to work.

When I got to my desk to work I was able to start working on what I actually needed to get done that day. So often, I would sit down to work and have to spend time figuring out what I wanted to get done, I wasn’t being as productive as I should have been. When I sit down I need to be ready to work. and on this day I hammered through my list.

Figure out what things you need to do daily or monthly to reach your goal. You will definitely get more accomplished if you prepare for your day the night before.

Learn How to Multitask

Here I am riding my stationary bike and thinking about all the things I can do while I have 30-45 minutes where my body is busy, but my mind is free. I could listen to personal development, audios, catch up on emails and text messages or listen to music. How to effectively multitask is something so many of us try to master, but often does not seem to work to our advantage.

One thing I learned when I first started building my own personal business is to make the most of the time where you can feed your mind with knowledge while your body is busy doing other things. Anytime you are doing something where you can be listening to personal development while still accomplishing something is key.

While you are working out, cleaning the house, doing laundry, you can also be filling your mind with knowledge. Turn your car into a learning university and listen to audiobooks, podcasts, anything that will fill your brain with messages that empower you. This is how you can effectively multitask and get more done and of course, you can achieve so much more when you are feeding your mind with great information.

I want to live a full life, full of meaning with more fun and less stress. A life of mediocrity is not something that appeals to me and should not sound good to anyone. I tell people all the time that multitasking is a myth, I used to think that to become more successful I needed to learn to multitask better. What I have found is that you can only truly focus on one thing at a time.

There is only one way to actually multitask, it is to combine a mindless activity with a mindful activity. Whenever your body is occupied, you can be filling your mind with personal development and bettering yourself from the inside out. What can not be done is reading emails or answering texts while listening to audio, you can’t focus on two things that use your brain at the same time.

To give yourself a competitive edge, you need to fill your mind with knowledge that will help you achieve your goals. Think about all the times where you can combine a mindless activity with a mindful activity and even if it is just ten minutes a day, just start filling your mind with knowledge.
