Ever feel like you don’t have time for a Daily Devotion with God? No one is perfect and I am guilty of feeling like this myself from time to time. Or, perhaps spending time with God simply slipped your mind for a week, month, or even years… It happens. What’s important is what we do once we realize we’re missing out on one of the most beautiful joys of life – spending time with our creator and getting filled, renewed and strengthened to face whatever may come at us each day.
If you’re anything like me, the thought of sitting in silence for any length of time is down-right scary. I remember the first time I experienced quiet time. It was the most unnatural thing! I remember sitting on a large rock at Bible Camp and thinking, “Ok… how long do I need to sit here and “connect with God?”
Ever feel like life is draining your patience and seemingly working against your faith? Whether we recognize it or not we have “drains” on our faith that can be harmful unless identified. Sometimes we don’t want to see certain things or people in our lives as a strain which can make it even harder to identify. Drains can come in all forms and sometimes may surprise us: friends, work, media, possessions, money and sometimes family. Are there any parts of your life that work against your relationship with God? This is a question that only you can answer, perhaps in a quiet time.
