Shortcut to Reaching Your Goals

The topic of goal setting and achievement has been on my mind for quite some time and today I want to share with you a goal setting tip and the skills to achieve your goals. If I just had a jump start, or if I just knew the steps to follow to reach my goal, I would be well on my way. Are you the type of person that wants a shortcut or something to jump start you in the right direction of that goal? Do you just need to know the steps and then you will be on your way to setting and reaching your goals? If this sounds like you, this is going to be a powerful message on how to achieve your goals.

When we were young, we had so many big dreams of what we were going to do, what we were going to be. We believed we could do anything! We didn’t let “reality” set in and skew that. I want to encourage you to start dreaming big again. At a pretty young age, I felt like this was stolen from me, and I feel like there are so many of us that feel the same way. I want you to set your goals, reach your goals and have those feelings of success and achievement.

Look around at what is going on around us, in our own lives along with the heavy burdens of what is going on in the world. Right now I am rereading the book The Compound Effect and also going through an online academy called High Performance Academy with Brendon Burchard and in both I am reminded of just how important your self talk is. How you talk to yourself, your mindset, is going to be the differentiating factor as to whether you reach your goals or not. I want to give you the steps to achieve your goals and some goal setting tips.

As many of you know I am a health and fitness coach, but that is just a small part of who I am and what I do. By nature, I am a person who wants to encourage people and I love helping people start and build businesses. There is one thing that changed my life, my business, my fitness, and my relationships and this is not new information, we all know this to be true, it is how we talk to ourselves, what goes on inside our brains, is what holds a lot of us back from achieving the life we want. I had all these people and circumstances, that I thought were holding me back, they were the reasons that I wasn’t able to move forward. What you are allowing yourself to think to yourself on a daily basis will be what pushes you towards your goal or it will push you farther away from it. If in your mind you think to yourself that you are fat, or that you could never get that business off the ground. Or if I was younger, or if I had a better wardrobe, then maybe I would feel more confident and put myself out there.

Pay attention to how you are talking to yourself and your self talk. God does not make junk. Naturally, things are going to happen, but you have control over how you are going to deal with it. You have the control, the final say, on whether you will accept the thought, meditate on it, or completely ignore it. Start meditating on the correct self talk and it will become easier to do over time. Write down your hesitations, or what may block you from getting what you want. Now, cross each one off and write the opposite. How to achieve your goals will start with you changing your mindset and what you allow in your mind to start with. Think of what you can do to change the things that wouldn’t serve you well. You will become your self fulfilling prophecy.

Tune out the negativity, this goes for negativity in the world around us as well. You choose what you allow to come into your brain and for me sometimes it means not watching the news which is filled with negativity much of the time. The subconscious mind takes commands very well and will move in the direction of what you are telling it. Become aware of what you are allowing into your brain and protect your mindset. How to achieve goals in life starts with your mindset. Success and achievement won’t just come to you without you first having the right mindset.

That’s the SECRET!! It is what you are thinking, and what you are filling your brain with, that will be the differentiating factor as to your ability to reach your goal.
