Meet the Band

Holly Hierman – Lead Vocalist

Holly Hierman is the lead vocalist for The Retrospective Collective (Retro), a classic rock cover band performing favorites from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. Her love for music began in grade school and continued through high school, where she took part in several musicals and stage productions.

During college, she sang with Studio 9, a 9-part harmony vocal group at Long Beach City College, and later performed in a 4-part harmony worship band at her church. Over the years, Holly has explored a variety of genres—from pop and jazz to contemporary Christian and country—bringing that depth and versatility into her work today.

Now focused on rock and roll, Holly blends decades of experience with a genuine love of performing and connecting through music.

Dean “Dino” Colli – Guitarist

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Dino grew up in a home filled with music, thanks to his rock-loving parents. His early idol was Elvis Presley—until his 12th birthday, when he picked up his first guitar. From that moment on, it was all about the legends: Eddie Van Halen and Jimmy Page.

Dino quickly made his mark in the local music scene, joining several popular high school bands. A defining moment came when he performed Van Halen’s “Eruption” in his very first live show—rocking a crowd of 400 at the school talent show. He and his bandmates also wrote and performed the Class Song at graduation, sealing his role as a hometown guitar hero.

Throughout his 20s and 30s, Dino continued gigging across Rhode Island and Massachusetts, playing in rock bands that covered classics and wrote original material. After relocating to California in 2003, he joined a number of established OC bands and hit the local circuit, delivering high-energy sets spanning Blues, Classic Rock, and Heavy Metal.

Today, Dino brings his fiery guitar skills to The Retrospective Collective, channeling his lifelong love of Rock & Roll into every performance. When he’s not on stage, you’ll find him in his self-built home studio— writing, recording, and keeping the spirit of rock alive.

Evan Guzman – Bassist

Growing up with a musician father, Evan was always surrounded by music from a very young age; playing cello in his elementary and middle school’s orchestras. His love for music finally blossomed in high school when he joined his school’s drumline group. He went from playing crash cymbals to working his way up to playing bass drum and tenors. During this time in high school is when he also began playing bass in a couple of different rock and pop-punk bands outside of school, and discovered progressive rock bands like Rush and Kansas and metal bands like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. This diverse interest in genres across multiple instruments and disciplines is where his highly eclectic knowledge of music first originated.

During college, he learned all manner of percussion and bass instruments in the Irvine Valley College Wind Symphony and Orchestra, respectively, while continuing to perform in his rock band, Animal Man, that he started with some mutual friends. He also gained a love for more rock bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Emerson Lake & Palmer, and Primus, chief among them. His time spent and skills learned in college culminated in arranging and conducting a Wind Symphony performance of The Trial, the final track of Pink Floyd’’s epic of an album, The Wall.

Since leaving college and continuing into his adult life, Evan has continued to play music on and off in several different groups; including, but not limited to playing classic rock covers with his father and uncle, running his high school’s drumline as the main technician for the marching battery section, and even partaking in a musical for his high school where he got paid to to play a variety of different instruments when they lacked enough volunteer students to cover all of the parts.

Post college, he took a break from playing to pursue more career oriented goals but still explored different genres of music, and eventually fell in love with other groups like Creedence Clearwater Revival and Marty Robbins, and Tool. Joining Retro has reignited his love for music after a brief hiatus, and he now devotes his creative time to learning and playing as many songs as he can that he loved listening to when he was growing up.
