I do… All. The. Time.
We live in a society where it’s SO EASY to get answers to literally to ANYTHING we seek to know.
Yet… there are still times when I’m just screaming in the back of my mind #googleit Do you ever feel like this too?
Here’s the deal. I’m a business owner who teaches other people to be business owners. I am 100% invested in their success because that’s how I create an income – by helping other people become successful. I love this model because it guarantees that no one in my business can just get “lucky” – they HAVE to WORK!
I’ve never been afraid of hard work. I LOVE IT! It makes me feel proud. I’ve never wanted a hand out and let’s face it, when we figure things out on our own, we develop confidence and competence too!
In the beginning of my career, I wanted my team to succeed SO BAD that my last name could have been google. Like. Legit.
I was answering everyone’s question… big or small and taking the stance of “you don’t have to figure anything out… I’ll do it all for you”
What happened? You guessed it… I BURNED OUT and I created a culture of “Holly will do everything for me” – UGH! It didn’t take long before I became resentful and realized that my team didn’t know how to use google or youtube and they were waiting on me for WAY TOO MUCH! It was a bottleneck.
In my passion to help people SO MUCH, I had actually stunted the learning of my team.
If you’re a parent you know:
– you can’t dress your kids forever
– you can’t brush their teeth for them until they go to college
…. you get my drift.
People have to learn how to TAKE OWNERSHIP of their business themselves.
You’ve heard the phrase “Give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a meal but TEACH a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime”
I’m in the business of TEACHING people to fish: To FIND their true freedom. To face their negative beliefs head-on. To learn how to find the answers to all their questions. To figure out how to get out of debt, stop living paycheck to paycheck and truly TAKE CONTROL OF THEIR FINANCIAL FUTURE.
My friends. Don’t wait for someone to give you the answers. GO AFTER THEM.
