Let’s talk about muscle mass. The more muscle mass you have in your body, the more calories you will burn while at rest and when you work out. Women tend to think that if they lift heavy weights, they will get bulky. That’s just not the case!
Muscle mass is dense and tight and compact. Fat mass is much larger, it’s fluffier.
Ever heard that a pound of muscle weighs more than a pound of fat? A pound of anything is still a pound. The difference is that a pound of muscle is smaller than a pound of fat. It takes up less space.
Muscle mass will help speed up your metabolism which is something you just don’t get with cardio. Cardio is great but you need strength training in your workouts too!
