How to Lose Weight without Starving Yourself

Is it possible to lose weight without starving yourself? If you’re anything like me, when you think about starting a diet program or getting into shape, you automatically think about how hard it’s going to be, how you’re going to be hungry all the time and how you have to just suffer through. I am here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way, it is possible to lose weight without being hungry all the time.

I have been in the health and fitness industry since the year 2000, but have struggled with my weight since I was a child. My first experience with a diet was at age 10, if you grew up in fast food nation like I did, you know exactly what was going on in so many busy households. We ate fast food and drank diet sodas, and really didn’t pay too much attention to what we were putting into our bodies. Obesity is a major health concern in our nation, and childhood obesity is at an all time high in our country. Not wanting to be the chubby kid in class, my parents put me in gymnastics, where I competed from ages 11-17. At age 17, when forced to retire from gymnastics due to injuries, I immediately started freaking out about the thought of gaining weight. This fear of gaining weight lead me to develop eating disorders, I dipped into bulimia for a bit, but it was more of the exercise anorexia that I could justify in my mind, since I used to train three hours a day for gymnastics. My fear of gaining weight had me exercising up to five hours a day, while eating as little food as possible. It is during this time when I was not feeding my body enough calories, not getting enough sleep, and I was stressed out over gaining weight that my IBS went into full swing. If any of you know anything about the stomach condition IBS, you know how awful it can be. I found a meal replacement shake, Shakeology, that has taken away all my IBS symptoms that you’ll hear more about later. My IBS stopped my use of exercise anorexia to try and control my weight and led me to my decision to go into fitness, receiving a degree in Kinesiology and searching for healthy ways to lose weight. Fast forward twenty years, I have finally figured out a way of living that works for me and keeps my body working at it’s best. As I mentioned before, I found a wonderful meal replacement shake, known as Shakeology, which helps reduce cravings, helps with weight loss and 100% balances out your food intake. Deficiency can increase cravings, your body has cravings for a reason, if your body is deficient in a certain area you will have cravings. For instance, your body could be deficient in protein, but you just feel hungry so you keep putting food in your body and it is not doing your body any good. It is very difficult to get all the nutrients our body needs just from the food we eat, so much of our food is grown in soil that is stripped, it’s sprayed with pesticides and then full of preservatives to top it off. It is for this reason I am a strong believer in supplements, drinking Shakeology everyday assures me that I have all the nutrients my body needs. This meal replacement shake has changed the way I look at weight loss, while taking me off all medication associated with my IBS. Along with drinking Shakeology is finding a way to eat that is sustainable to you, a way of eating that doesn’t feel like you’re dieting. If you are tired of the yo-yo dieting and want to learn a way to eat that is sustainable to you I would love to hear from you.
