Ask yourself this one, simple question: What’s Important to Me?
Did you immediately come up with a few things that you know are super important to you? The reason I’m asking is because I know this seems like an easy question to answer, right?
On the contrary, I believe many of us do not LIVE by what’s truly important to us.
Let’s face it… LIFE is busy! I know… You’re busy, I’m busy, everyone is busy… LOL!
I guess the question should actually be:
What’s REALLY Important to Me?
Here’s a quick example, and a little explanation. When I was asked this question a few years ago, this was the order of my answers:
(1) Honoring God
(2) Quality Time with my Family
(3) Financial Stability (in that order)
Then, I heard someone say:
“You can tell a lot about a person’s true priorities (what’s really important to him) by how he spends his time and his money.”
That hit home for me. I decided to get honest with myself and after examining how I was spending my TIME… it quickly came to me that even though I thought I had my priorities in order, the reality was, I was living my life in the exact opposite order than I had intended. I’ve worked diligently to reverse that and set my priorities straight. Simply put, I was spending MOST of my time working and neglecting my top two priorities.
I bring this up because I find my life is more balanced than ever, and I feel less frazzled and more relaxed. It was a gift I received and I want to pass that on to you. I’d like to encourage you to ask yourself… What’s REALLY Important to Me?
Then, sit down and figure out if your TIME and your FINANCES are in line with those things.
Don’t worry if they’re not… at least not yet. Being aware is 1/2 the battle. I want us to live our lives to the fullest. Relationships, Mind, Body, Spirit. It’s about balance and the better you can find balance within these critical areas, the more fulfilled you’ll be.
