MYTH: Lifting Heavy Weights Makes You Big

As a fitness instructor and online health/fitness coach, I run into this misconception A LOT. Women, especially, want to know if lifting heavy weights will make them “bulky”. The answer is no. Muscle doesn’t make you bulky, fat mass does.

Building muscle is great for the body as it is lean and tight, plus it burns more calories just existing than fat does. So go ahead, pick up those weights and work those muscles!
